Here is how to configure your Instamic with the Tentacle Sync E System.

NOTES

- To get access to all recent features, we always recommend upgrading your unit to the latest firmware version.

Instamic Pro Firmware Upgrade Procedure here

Instamic Pro Plus Firmware Upgrade Procedure here

Let's start

1. Launch the Instamic Remote application and select Audio Recorder on the Home page.

2. On the Connect Page, tap on the Instamic available to connect to it.

If multiple Instamic are available, tap on the Multiconnect button to connect to them all at once

3. By default Instamic is configured to save the Time of the Day from your mobile device in Timecode Format (INT)

4. Jump to the Settings Page to select the Timecode System you are willing to use

5. All connected Instamic will scan and read the Timecode broadcasted from the Tentacle Sync Es.

When the TC line is green and shows EXT (External), Instamic has properly read the Timecode from the Sync Es.

You are ready to start recording in sync with your Tentacle Sync system!

Tap on the Multi-Timecode button to manually refresh the Timecode Sync with the Tentacle Sync System.

When the icon is light blue, one or more of your Instamic are not in sync. When green, all Instamic are in sync.

TIP and TRICKS

a. Instamic scans if any Tentacle Sync E is available every time you trigger record

That's right. Instamic scans and saves the Timecode data broadcasted for the Sync E every time you trigger record, without connecting Instamic to our app. Instamic had to be configured to connect to the Tentacle Sync System in the Settings App.

a. You need one Sync E to synchronize multiple Instamic

Since every Instamic scans and reads if there is any Sync E available within Bluetooth Range before recording (30 feet - 10 meters by specifications), you simply need one Sync E to send Timecode Data to multiple Instamic.

Tentacle Sync is the first Timecode System we implemented back in 2019.

With the Pro Plus C release in 2024, we have started supporting the Atomos System too.

We are always looking for new ones to help our community streamline their workflow with Instamic and other platforms :-)
