Here's how to keep your Instamic Pro Plus and Plus C up to date with the latest firmware (2.3.22).

To download the Firmware Upgrade Application, you need to register your Instamic at register.instamic.io/plus

If you have already registered your Instamic, you can find the Firmware Upgrade Application as an attachment down below this article (2.8.2 Version on Mac and 2.7.0 version on Windows)

  1. Launch the Instamic Firmware Upgrade App
  2. Wait until the latest Firmware Version (to v 2.3.22) appearing under the App's Title.
  3. Connect Instamic with the USB cable provided (first green check). We recommend disconnecting any other USB external device if possible.
  4. Press and hold the Instamic button until the first 2 LEDs go off. Release.
  5. Instamic will disconnect from your computer.
  6. Let the app do the magic (don't disconnect the unit while the Loading Bar is on).
  7. Your Instamic will boot up again and the 3 green checks will confirm that you have successfully updated your device.

Troubleshooting and solutions:

1. Instamic reboots when you have released the button after the two LEDs go off

- Turn the Instamic on.

- Connect it to your computer with the Instamic's cable.

- Check that it is correctly mounted on your computer as an external memory

- Launch the Firmware Upgrade Application

- Check that a .txt file has been stored on the Instamic internal memory

- Hold down the button on the Instamic until the first two green lights turn off

- The middle LED will start blinking. Do not disconnect your Instamic.

- Instamic restarts with the latest firmware.

If no .txt appears, manually copy the .txt attached to your Instamic's memory and start the procedure.

2. The first green check doesn't appear

Step 1

- Make sure that the Instamic internal storage is named INSTAMIC

- Use the Instamic's cable provided.

- Copy the .txt file attached to this article (see below) and launch the firmware upgrade app. Start the updating process.

- Reboot your computer, launch the app, and connect Instamic.

3. The first green check appears only when I unplug the unit

- Make sure that the Instamic internal storage is named INSTAMIC

- If it has a different name, you can rename it from the Finder using the right-click menu or the Format Memory application on Windows / Disk Utility on Mac.

4. The first green check appears but no .txt file is not saved into the Instamic's internal memory

- Disconnect any devices that have internal memory such as a Notebook, Pad, or similar.

5. Your Instamic doesn't turn back on

Step 1

- Wait 3 hours. Do not charge your Instamic

- Launch the Instamic Firmware Update Application

- Connect Instamic with the USB cable provided

- Wait 30 secs until Instamic reloads.

6. The application crashes as soon as I connect Instamic.

Disconnect any USB devices and plug in only the Instamic.

Still no solution

- Try this Hardware Reset Procedure if your unit is a Pro or Plus version. No need to do it on the Plus C

Your Instamic is still alive. It is only shy :-)
