Utilize Instamic's wireless capabilities to obtain transcripts, automated summaries, action items, and chat with the Otter Meeting Notes App hands-free!

Here is how to configure your Instamic as an external wireless microphone with the Otter Meeting Agent App

NOTE: We recommend upgrading your Pro, Pro Plus, or Plus C unit to the latest firmware.

Upgrade procedure for the Pro and the Pro Plus / Plus C.

Let's start

1. Launch the Instamic Remote application and select Bluetooth Microphone on the Home page.

2. Tap to connect on the Connect Page and ensure that Hands-Profile Mode is activated.

Your Instamic is now set up as a Hands-Free Profile device, and it will keep its configuration at every boot (whether or not you connect to the app).

3. Jump to the Capture Page (microphone icon) and press Enable Streaming

4. Pair Instamic on the iOS Bluetooth Settings

If it was already paired, forget the device and re-pair to be sure that Instamic is recognized as a Hands-Free Device.

Two channels should be available and connected. Instamic BLE to trigger the unit and Instamic to stream the audio from Instamic to the phone (if you have renamed Instamic, the second connection will have the same name as your device's name).

5. Ensure that the iOS recognizes Instamic as an external audio device (indicated by the Bluetooth icon on the volume fader).

6. Launch the Otter Meetings Agent and press the microphone icon to start transcribing wirelessly :)

TIPS and TRICKS

a. Open the Control Center to verify that Instamic is the main audio source for your iOS device.

b. Check the VU meter on the app to adjust the gain using the gain fader. Alternatively, tap on the input gain value (blue rectangle) to access all gain presets.

c. Once you have configured Instamic in Hands-Free Profile, simply connect Instamic in the iOS Bluetooth Settings and start transcribing immediately with your Instamic.

Your Instamic Pro Plus (firmware 2.3.44) will begin streaming every time you start taking a note on Otter. Any older firmware will require you to manually trigger recording on the unit or manually enable streaming from our app.
