We strongly recommend keeping your Instamic's memory as clear as possible before starting a production day.
Starting with version 1.2.7 on iOS and Android, and firmware version 1.2.95 (released in October 2021), we have introduced a new feature that allows you to format the internal memory directly from the Instamic Remote mobile app. We highly encourage you to use this feature.
If you choose to format the internal memory using your computer, please ensure that you set the cluster size to 64KB.
If your Instamic is using firmware version 1.2.92 or older, we recommend following these procedures:
- 1. After deleting a file, be sure to empty the trash bin before ejecting your Instamic.
- 2. Format the internal memory using the default Format option on Windows or the Disk Utility application on macOS. Please format it as FAT16 or FAT32.
To format the internal memory on macOS, follow these steps:
1. Open the Disk Utility application, located in Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.
2. In Disk Utility, select the Instamic drive from the list.
3. Click the "Erase" button.
4. Choose "MS-DOS (FAT)" as the format.
5. Click "Erase" to proceed.
For enhanced security, it is recommended to use the "Secure Erase" option found under Security Options. Please note that this process may take 20 to 30 minutes.
To format the internal memory on Windows, follow these steps:
Open the Windows File Explorer, select Instamic under Devices, right-click, and choose Format.
Happy Formatting!
